The GAUDI KOSMISCHES TRIO is a new recording and live project led by Grammy-Award nominee, producer, and solo artist Gaudi, featuring Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree on bass and De Palma on guitars. A global favourite in the psychedelic-dub and electronica scenes, Gaudi continues to feed his loyal fanbase with his infectious bass-driven grooves and innovative production techniques.

An up-tempo formula of retro beats and analogue sounds, their debut album Torpedo Forward is an exciting fusion of Krautrock and psychedelic dub, recorded using vintage studio equipment and analogue original instrumentation from the 70s and 80s, mixed and produced by Gaudi at his Metatron Studio in London.

Torpedo Forward releases October 3rd and is available for pre-order now as a limited edition audiophile 180-gram black vinyl, cd, digital download and via all major streaming services.

Curious Music is very pleased to announce the release of Outside Live by Fabio Capanni. Outside Live releases on August 30th and is available for pre-order now. Enjoy the first single “Outside” now.

Also, please join us for the Outside Live listening party on August 25th at 12:00 CT. This will be the first opportunity to hear the album in its full resplendence. Fabio will join us to discuss the album and answer your questions.

Outside Live contains the faithful recording of the concert that was held on that magical evening, during which Fabio Capanni played live some tracks from Outside, his first solo album Home from 2021, and more.

On the occasion, Fabio Capanni was accompanied by an exceptional group of musicians: Massimo Fantoni on electric guitar; Martina Sbaragli on piano; Luc van Lieshout on flugelhorn and pocket trumpet, who performed live the tracks from the Outside in which he appears as a guest and, for the first time, played other tracks from the same album and an unreleased track dating back to his first collaboration with Fabio Capanni; Nicola Alesini on soprano sax, who performed Don't Close, a track in which he figures as a guest on Home, and “The Shade” (Eno, Moebius, Roedelius), a heartfelt tribute to Hans Joachim Roedelius that Capanni and Alesini used to perform live in the past with the German musician himself.

We are very excited to welcome award-winning Italian visual artist, photographer and graphic designer Petulia Mattioli to the Curious Music family.

You are likely familiar with her work as it has played a significant role in two of our most recent projects – the Dust series by Peter Chilvers and The Same and The Other  by Bernocchi/Chaplin.

As a graphic designer for music albums, Mattioli has collaborated since1992 with some of the most renowned record labels and artists including Christopher Chaplin, Eraldo Bernocchi, Harold Budd, Colin Edwin, Cuong Vu / Bill Frisell, Nils Petter Molvaer, Robin Guthrie, Pat Mastelotto, Bill Laswell, Toshinori Kondo, Thomas Fehlmann, Gaudi, Lars Fenin, Spin Marvel and more. Her ability to blend different visual elements with music has earned her a reputation as a master of visual storytelling.

Her work extends beyond music projects, as she has also created video installations for museums and galleries around the world including Royal Photography Society / Hundred Heroines - UK , Four Corners - UK , Barbican Centre, London Contemporary Art Center - Siena, Italy; Berliner Kunstsalon - Berlin, Germany; Pecci Contemporary Art Museum - Prato, Italy; Nicola del Roscio / Cy Twombly Foundation Contemporary Art, Rome - Italy and many more. Her unique approach to video art combines different mediums and techniques.

Her ongoing research and exploration of new artistic territories continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world, showcasing her ability to work across different mediums and genres.

Mattioli is deeply involved in several forthcoming Curious Music projects and we are honored to collaborate with a true visionary artist whose work so closely aligns with our continually evolving exploration.

Curious Music is very pleased to announce Dust, a series of instrumental EPs by Peter Chilvers.

This series showcases Chilvers' distinctive style, characterized by a blend of improvised piano, electronic textures, and occasional upright bass. Notably influenced by his two decades of collaboration with Brian Eno, Dust explores innovative music manipulation techniques.

Dust represents a milestone for Curious, marking not only Peter Chilvers' debut with us, but also our first Dolby Atmos release as well. It signifies our accelerating interest in pursuing creative projects that develop organically, with the "launch" representing more the beginning of exploration rather than the conclusion. Dust is not a static release; it will be an evolving, multi-disciplinary experience, growing and transforming over time, aligned with the creative impulse as opposed to a schedule.

Dust 1, the first EP in the series, presents a rich auditory experience, blending organic and electronic elements to create a captivating soundscape. Chilvers' innovative approach is evident in the intricate layers and evolving textures throughout the EP.

We are thrilled to welcome Gaudi to the Curious Music family.

Gaudi’s music effervescently transcends category and boundary, making him an ideal fit for our label.

Known for his Grammy-nominated production work and his innovative fusion of reggae, dub, and electronic sounds, Gaudi brings an abundant wealth of creativity and enthusiasm to his art.

Over the past three and a half decades, Gaudi has established himself as a pioneering force in the music industry, breaking down genre barriers and creating unique psychedelic-dub-fusion tracks. His impressive portfolio includes collaborations, remixes and production work with renowned artists such as The Orb, Steel Pulse, Groove Armada, Don Letts, Tricky, Terry Hall, Simple Minds, Horace Andy to name but a few.

His extensive background in producing, composing, and performing live sets worldwide will undoubtedly enrich the breadth of the Curious Music catalog, inspiring our ears and moving our hearts, shoes and pants.

Gaudi’s first project with us will be the energetic propulsion of the brilliant Torpedo Forward album by his new band project, the GAUDI KOSMISCHES TRIO, featuring Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree on bass and Pippo De Palma on guitar, set for release later this year. This project exemplifies the innovative spirit and genre-defying, forward-facing approach that align Gaudi and Curious.

We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with this fearless and innovative music producer.

Curious Music is delighted to announce the second pressing of The Book - the autobiography of Hans-Joachim Roedelius. The Book is available exclusively through the Curious Music.

In the extraordinary journey of The Book, Hans-Joachim Roedelius – the man once described by the Chicago Sun-Times as “20th Century music’s best kept secret” – tells his almost unfathomable story, from child actor in UFA films, through forced conscription in the Hitler Youth to eventual cornerstone of contemporary music and art. At once a Zelig-esque travelogue of wanderlust and occasionally quixotic misadventure, and the artistic manifesto of a truly unique figure in modern music, The Book is ultimately the account of a life lived in true, hard-earned freedom – at 89, a life that even now continues with an energy and creativity unabated, chapters continuing to be “written” in real time.

The Book includes:

  • Foreword by Brian Eno

  • Edition of 200, each copy hand-numbered

  • 469 pages

  • Over 165 photos - many previously unpublished

  • 108 album cover images in color

  • Design and layout by Sebastian Böcking

  • Translated by Alexandra Tolksdorf

We are delighted to announce the release of Aspirin by Moebius.

Aspirin is available as a limited edition audiophile 180-gram LP, limited-edition compact disc, vinyl/cd bundle, digital download and stream.

Aspirin presents a broad spectrum of Moebius’ distinctive approach — kosmische, rhythmic, abrasive, and hypnotic. From the repetitive patterns of the album title track to the reverberating layers found in ‘C9H8O4’ and ‘Synthetic’, Moebius delves deep into the surging maelstrom of synthesized experimentalism that he is famed for, and which continues to inspire a generation of sound explorers and composers today. Elsewhere, the dirtified electronica of ‘Spiraea’ and whimsical ‘Providence’ provide further evidence of the humour and imagination implanted in Moebius’ work, while the cyclical, mechanical ‘Muffler C’ is perfectly Moebius – profoundly unfussy, but full of noise and life.

The album artwork is by artist/composer Mark Mothersbaugh, best known as the singer and multi-instrumentalist from legendary band DEVO.

Curious Music is pleased to announce the release of Outside the new album by Fabio Capanni.

Outside is available as a 180-gram 2LP album, limited edition cd, digital download and stream. European customers order via Burning Shed.

The eight tracks of the new album Outside are developed around the refined sonic textures that have always distinguished Capanni's personal approach to the harmonic possibilities offered by the electric guitar, continuing an exploration that began with the 2021 album Home. Outside is an instrumental album, composed and performed by Fabio Capanni with only essential instrumentation of guitar and piano. The electric guitar used in an unconventional way is a distinctive mark of Capanni's music, capable of generating original sonorities and enveloping atmospheres in constant dialogue with the piano strings, creating a musical fresco of relevant expressive power where everything is “played with hands” and in which synthetic processing of sounds is not allowed.

About Moebius Strips

Honoring Story’s collaborator and dear friend Dieter “Moebi” Moebius (Cluster, Harmonia, Brian Eno, Conny Plank), Moebius Strips is a multichannel audio installation for museums, festivals, galleries, and other public spaces. Working with Moebius’ widow Irene, Story has collected thousands of his sounds, noises, samples and loops, and reimagined/recomposed these in patterned ‘strips’ which, out of the context of their original settings, combine in new and ever-evolving layers on the installation’s soundstage.

Moebius’ music continues to inspire a generation of sound explorers and composers, and we have honored those connections by inviting a distinguished group of artists who have been influenced by his work as well as former collaborators, to add their voice to the Strips – to interact in their own unique ways with the constructions - including contributions from Geoff Barrow (Portishead, Beak), Sarah Davachi, Jean-Benoît Dunckel (Air), Eve Maret, Mark Mothersbaugh (Devo), Phew, Hans-Joachim Roedelius (Cluster, Harmonia), Michael Rother (Harmonia, NEU!) and Yuri Suzuki.

"I am impressed by the conceptual clarity of Suki Sou's album Notes on Listening. I can hear common roots to Harmonia's music and I'm sure that many of our fans will enjoy Suki's tracks." - Michael Rother (NEU!/Harmonia), 2023

Curious Music is pleased to announce the release of electronic composer and sound designer Suki Sou’s deep listening focused debut mini album, Notes On Listening, on April 7th as a limited edition cd, digital download and streaming on all major digital platforms.

Born from a fascination with early electronic instruments, the record is a unique blend of neo-morning electronica, kosmische and proto techno. With its purified synthesized babble and hydrated loops, it’s perfect for accompanying moments of mindfulness, from wiping rain off your nose, to melting in a eucalyptus bath.
